Because no one owns Antarctica and there is no native population, the continent has no government and no flag. If it were to have a flag, what design would best represent this pristine wilderness that plays a unique role in global science? Flags from around the world were submitted to the ARISE (ANDRILL Research Immersion for Science Educators) team in Antarctica and during the ANDRILL Open House, the McMurdo community voted on the flags it would most like to see flying over Antarctica.
